The Summer Season Is Coming ... Are You Ready?

Just like that, another winter has come and gone. The bright spring flowers and the steadily rising temperatures make it impossible to ignore the fact that the summer season is right around the corner. As the owner of your own Lake of the Ozarks business, now is the time to ensure your company is ready for all that the busy summer season will bring. Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is here to help!

Advertising Your Business

Advertising your business is the only legitimate, measurable way to get your company name in front of potential and existing customers to generate new and repeat business. Radio, television, and magazine ads are powerful examples of traditional forms of advertising, but they aren't the only ones available to businesses today.

Joining Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is a great way to round out your advertising strategy. We proudly promote our members' businesses by displaying their brochures in Willmore Lodge, posting about their involvement on our Facebook page of over 2,500 fans, and hosting monthly networking socials for our members to support one another's businesses. By getting people talking about your business, we also promote powerful word-of-mouth referrals for your business.

Securing Your Staff

Your staff members are your company's lifeblood. You could have all the customers in the world, but if you don't have a talented staff dedicated to meeting your customers' needs, they will quickly take their business elsewhere.

Even if your company is open year-round, you can most likely expect to see an increase in business during the summer months as the Lake Area is inundated with tourists and second-home owners. Since the temperatures are rising early this year, we've already seen an increase in traffic as people begin making their ways to the Lake of the Ozarks.

If you haven't already, now is the time to organize your summer staff so that you will be prepared to meet the needs of your customers when the busy season hits. Our Lake of the Ozarks community job fair is a great place to start. Click here for more information about our upcoming job fair.

Enhancing Your Image

Advertising your business is only part of the equation. Promoting your company's name and getting in front of new and potential customers is important, but these efforts cannot stand on their own. In order to be truly successful, your advertising must be built on a firm foundation of a positive company reputation.

Joining the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is a powerful way to enhance your company's image (and generate those positive word-of-mouth referrals that we talked about earlier). Our members care about the community and take every opportunity they can to get involved. Their efforts speak volumes to us as well as to their customers.

5 Networking Statistics You Can't Ignore

As the modern world becomes increasingly digitally focused, traditional forms of communication are becoming lost arts. Many business professionals - especially the Millennial generation - tend to favor texting, email, and social media over phone calls and, in some cases, in-person visits. Despite the many conveniences it offers, however, modern technology will never be able to compete with the power of face-to-face communication.

Since our March Lake of the Ozarks business networking social is next week, we thought it would be appropriate to take this opportunity to share with you some eye-opening statistics about the power of in-person networking. The numbers speak for themselves!

5 Face-To-Face Networking Stats
Source: Hubspot
  • 95% say that face-to-face meetings are essential for long-term business relationships.
  • 85% of professionals say they build stronger, more meaningful business relationships during in-person meetings and conferences.
  • 77% of professionals say they prefer in-person meetings because of the opportunity to read body language and facial expressions.
  • 75% say they prefer in-person meetings because they lead to more social interactions and the ability to bond with coworkers/clients.
  • 49% say they prefer in-person meetings because they allow for more complex strategic thinking.

The Power Of In-Person Networking

Digital communication is valuable, but it will never measure up to the strength of in-person relationship building. Taking the time to meet face-to-face builds credibility in a way that no other form of communication does. It also allows you to make a lasting impression by giving you the opportunity to showcase your personality through real, in-person interactions with clients and prospects.

Don't Miss Out On This Valuable Networking Opportunity!

At Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, we make it our mission to enhance the economic prosperity of our members. We host monthly business networking socials to provide both current and members with the opportunity to grow their businesses by fostering strong relationships and generating new leads.

March Networking Social
  • Date:  Tuesday, March 21, 2017
