Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals: September 11-13

One of the biggest annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks has been rescheduled for September 11-13, 2020. This awesome event brings in visitors from all over the state and surrounding states. It's a great boost for the local economy and an event the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to host each year. Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals:

The Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals is a unique show for all makes, models, and years of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Located in Central Missouri, we bring 30+ years of show experience to the historic Bagnell Dam Strip at the Lake of the Ozarks. The strip is closed to normal traffic during show hours, so we only have show vehicles within the boundaries. This creates and absolutely electric atmosphere! Some say it's like being on the set of "American Graffiti".

How did we get our name?

Some folks say that the Lake of the Ozarks, which is over 90 miles long, looks like a big dragon from the air as it winds through the central Missouri hills. Several years ago, it became known as “The Land of the Magic Dragon”. At our very first show in 1987, we used the name “Magic Dragon” and it has stayed with us to this very day.


2020 Judging Criteria:

  • Exterior—Body, Paint, Graphics, Wheels, Tires and Chrome
  • Interior—All vehicle interior excluding trunk and engine
  • Engine & Compartment—Everything under the hood
  • Award Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 3th at 1PM at the Ozark Live Stage.
  • One first place award will be presented to the highest score in each vehicle class.
  • One second place award will be presented to the second highest score in each class
  • (contingent on at least 5 vehicles participating per class.)
  • The Best of Show award will be presented to the vehicle with the highest overall score.
Judging is done by a team of volunteers and is not considered concourse judging!

The Lake Area Chamber is excited to be able to host this amazing Lake of the Ozarks annual event this year. As we gear up for the big weekend, we're happily accepting volunteers for many different roles.
