Benefits of Supporting a Small Business

Small Business Saturday is coming right up - 11/24/18. If you're thinking about getting out and shopping this weekend - don't forget to spread the love and support local businesses too. While a number of big box stores may have holiday shopping deals, you'll make a bigger impact by supporting a small business at the Lake of the Ozarks. As the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, we encourage all of our members and friends to get out this Small Business Saturday and shop small!


Unique Items

Many small businesses have unique items for sale. Whether they are homemade or specifically selected for the shop's inventory, items found in local businesses are typically unique and stand-out. You'll be hard pressed to find a unique item like those of a small business if you frequent a big box store!

Keep Money Local

When you shop with a local business, your money is circulating in our great community. Many small business owners choose to support fellow small businesses, as well. As you spend money with one local business, they will likely be spending more money with other locals. This is great for the local economy!

Great Holiday Gifts

It's the season for gift giving! Find unique and thoughful gifts when you shop small. Wow your friend, co-worker, or family member when you give an individualized gift from a small business. The extra thought that went into the gift you select will make a big difference! Shopping small is a great way to knock off some of those gifts you need to purchase for the holiday season.

Show Your Support

As you frequent a small business, they will likely reciprocate that action. As a small business owner, it's important to show your support to your fellow small business owner! As our local businesses show their support for one another, our local economy grows!
